Zoom search location in Google Map beyond its normal limit

I’m sure most of you guys have used Google Maps for navigation, to find out different places or at-least you might have zoomed in to your own house. Google Maps is no doubt one of the best and has more details when compared to any other maps, just search location in Google Map and it will give your more details of the local stores and streets as you zoom in to the maps.

There is a maximum limit to zoom beyond which you cannot zoom further. If you are in a well known place or in a city or some metros then once you zoom to the max limit, Google Maps will take you to street view. But, what about other place where there are no street views. Well, there is a small trick which you can try to zoom into the picture even after the maximum zoom limit. Don’t expect something like street view, this trick will only help you to zoom further to next one to two or even three levels depending on the image which Google is offering us. This is just in case if you want to zoom further – it might sometimes look like a digital zoom.
Just follow the following steps :google map search
  • Go to Google Maps and search for a location. As an example I have searched for Bangalore International Airport – BIAL, Bangalore, India. You can see a plane in the image.
  • I have zoomed to the maximum limit in the below image (Left Side of the image).
  • If you want to zoom further, click on link button which is next to the print button as shown above.
  • On clicking link button, a small window will open. Now copy the URL. (This URL is too long)
  • Paste this URL in a new tab or window.
  • End of this URL will look something like “&z=19″, edit and update this number 19 to 20 or 21 and hit enter.
  • Now check out the zoomed image. The image below (Right side of the image) after zooming. The image quality may not be good and depends on Google’s Map and the location selected.
