How to download Wikipedia articles by creating an eBook

What if you want to travel to a place like Bangalore and you get all info from Wikipedia and later you search for more info say – places around Bangalore, Shopping Malls in Bangalore etc. in Wikipedia. Well, you might have too many bookmarks or pages to print and it will be a mess. Wikipedia can help you in managing all these articles by creating an eBook and then download that eBook or place an order to print it as a book.

Now, how do you create an eBook from Wikipedia? Creating an eBook is simple and easy. Just follow the following steps to create an eBook of your own and manage all your Wikipedia articles in one place.

  • Go to Wikipedia book creator in Wiki
  • In the left margin, under “print/export” click on ‘Create a Book’.
  • Click on the green button – Start Book Creator.
  • Go to whichever articles you want in the eBook  and click on ‘Add this page to your book’.
  • Click on ‘Show Book’ to view the list of all articles that you have saved.
  • In this page enter the ‘Title’ and ‘Subtitle’.
  • You have an option to Create new Chapters, sort your articles alphabetically and also clear your book.
  • Wikipedia can suggest you articles based on the content of the articles that you have saved in this book.
  • In the article if there are any hyperlinks pointing to another Wiki page then just hover over this link to add a new page without opening the book by clicking on the ‘Add linked wiki page to your book’ little pop-up.
  • Under manage your book you have options to add chapter, you can drag and drop the articles that you saved earlier to re-arrange, go to an article and remove an article.
  • Once your are ready with all of the above, you can are ready to download this as an eBook or order for a printed book.
  • You have option to download in different formats like PDF, OpenDocument, OpenZIM, EPUB or go for Wikipedia’s print option.
