Real time website monitoring using google analytics
This webpage under Real-Time in Google Analytics provides a detailed website analysis like real time traffic source, location and content monitoring. It will show how many users are active as of now on your website with per second details. It will also show page views per minute – So, you will come to know how many pages each visitor has viewed and thus you can calculate yourself the bounce rate. When you monitor website in real time you will come to know if the user is a returning or a new user. And if this user is from a referral or social or from organic search.
The best thing is you will come to know how each of your post or webpage is performing by looking at the Top Active Pages. Active pages will show the total number of visitors active as of now. If there are more number of visitors visiting the same topic then you will come to know as to what people are looking or searching for and you can write another post on that or update the existing one.
There is a map which will show you the user location, by looking at this you can make out that your website is accessible in that country or not.
Note that if you are new to blogging or have a new website or a site with low traffic then the real time traffic – active visitors might show as zero all the time. Once you website has enough content and has visitors you will see the live updates. I have been using this tool for a while and its awesome. Give it a try today and let me how Real Time was benificial to you in improving and enhancing your blog.
